Laura Murphy
Paralegal
Ms. Laura Murphy is originally from the City of Chicago, Illinois. In 1985, Ms. Murphy graduated from Mother McAuley High School. After high school, Ms. Murphy was sure what she wanted to do with my life, so she took courses at the local junior college and continued working as a cashier at Dominick’s, a grocery store in Illinois. In 1990, I started working for a collection law firm in Chicago, as a receptionist. Eventually, she became the bookkeeper, and started doing some medical collections. In 1994, she started working for the Law Offices of James T. Gately which was a small high volume medical collection law firm as the receptionist, and eventually became a collector/secretary. Ms. Murphy remained with the law firm for 27 years until the office closed in 2021. Since she had been living in Crown Point since 2004, Ms. Murphy decided to work closer to home. Between April of 2022 and January of 2025, she worked as a legal assistant with a law office in Towns of Munster and Merrillville which handled municipal collections, personal injury and family law. In February of 2025, I became a member of the Gladish Law Firm, as the main paralegal for Attorney Douglas K. Walker who handles a variety of work including: estate planning, personal injury and medical malpractice cases.
I have been married since June, 1988 and have two adult daughters. When she is not at work, Ms. Murphy enjoys spending time with my family and traveling.
